This visit usually lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and includes a thorough history, observation and assessment of a nursing session watching for signs of an effective latch and milk transfer, a weight check, a customized care plan to help you reach your goals without judgement or guilt, a report to your health care provider(s), and access via telephone, text, and/or email for two weeks following your visit.

This visit usually lasts 1 – 1.5 hours and includes reassessment of feeding and adjustments to care plan, if necessary.  A weight check may also be done. Extension of access via telephone, text, and/or email for an additional two weeks following your visit.

Individual consult. This visit may last 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes a comprehensive history review and breast assessment.  Great for first time moms who want to discuss breastfeeding questions prior to delivery or moms who have had breastfeeding challenges with a previous baby.

This is a visit especially for mothers who work outside of the home. Our discussion will assist you in preparing for your return to work and includes help with setting up and using your breast pump. Discuss breast milk expression and storage. Maintaining supply, balancing breast and bottle, State and Federal rest break laws. Includes access via telephone, text, and/or email for two weeks following your visit.  (This visit does not cover breastfeeding assessment and assistance).

Online Lactation consult: Up to 60 minute video and/or audio online lactation consult on your smartphone, tablet or computer in the comfort of your own home.

Virtual lactation consults can provide assistance with:

• Feeding assessments
• Breast care including mastitis, plugged ducts, blebs, thrush, engorgement, and nipple soreness
• Soothing a fussy baby
• Breastfeeding while returning to work
• Assistance with breast pumps, nipple shields and other lactation devices
• Breastfeeding education and support

There are some limitations to virtual lactation consulting. Here are some tips:

• Both users must have adequate internet connection
• Both users must have adequate lighting. Please keep a flashlight on hand for mouth assessments
• May need a second set of hands to help with positioning the device for best viewing
